A note from Aileen

I gave up 'paid' work to enjoy the pleasures of being a full time mum in 2000  and after completing a evening course and  being about  while we extended the house I   started making cards in December 2002 as a way of 'chilling' in the evenings while our children were in bed . I discovered after all these years I had a creative streak somewhere! The cards soon took off among family and friends and after completing a 'Woman Into Business' course Aileen's Cards was launched.

Our Designs have grown by listening to what customers want - many can't find what they are looking for in the shops- or want something that won't be found anywhere else.

My huge thanks must go to my husband Neil-for the many hours he has spent producing this website and for all his help in other ways on the technology and printing side.

Also thanks for their patience and cuddles and loads of love to my three fantastic children who have shown me what matters in life and helped me to love craft. We have spent many an afternoon covered in gunk!

We dedicate this website to my mum, 'Granny Theresa' , and to my sister "Auntie Maureen" . They  were my first customers and enthused in great detail about my early attempts at card making, providing an endless supply of  encouragement, motivation, confidence boosting, and  never allowing me to doubt my abilities that it was possible to achieve my dream, which was to work from home doing something I love, which gave me the flexibility to be around  the children. I miss them both ginormously but will be eternally grateful to them for their inspiration and love.
